By the age of 9, a very young Elliott Ivey had begun to sense a calling to the gospel ministry and could be heard preaching the gospel any and everywhere he went. His eagerness and emotional yearning to share God’s Word, catapulted him into the Gospel Ministry and thus his Christian Leadership and ministerial experience began as he yielded to God’s call. Pastor Ivey is best-known for providing solid biblical truth through his teaching and preaching style that can be applied to everyday life.
Pastor Ivey, a native of Birmingham, Alabama was licensed and ordained to preach the gospel at the Antioch Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama under the leadership of Pastor Q.E. Hammond. He began his education and training from Alabama A&M University, Birmingham, Easion Bible College and South-eastern Bible College. He is currently continuing in his theological studies in pursuit of achieving his Doctorate of Theology degree.
Pastor Ivey has a passion for studying, preaching and teaching the word of God. His love for God's people and compassion for the lost both locally and abroad can be seen throughout his life and his ministry. His charismatic yet transparent personality allows him to inspire, encourage and minister to people from all walks of life. Pastor Ivey is not only a Preacher of the Gospel to his congregation, but also an Evangelist called by God to transform His people by presenting Christian evangelism throughout the United States and the world. His concern for people and his community has led him to join with “Pastors of Oakland” Association to take a stand against rising violence in his city by seeking peace and unity in his community, as well as quality public education for Oakland’s youth.
Relentless in his vision to bring people to God, people to people and Grace to the world has led Pastor Ivey to transiting the mindset of his church congregation from Pleasant New Beginnings Baptist Church to, “The Church of Restoration” (The COR). Pastor Ivey stands strong in his commitment to restoring the lives of people by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and revealing God’s plan of salvation and unconditional love to everyone. His preaching ministers to the emotions of people, his teaching ministers to the intellect of people, but both his preaching and teaching ministers to the needs of the heart.
